On what the stones traditionally mean

Rose quartz has long been associated with the heart. Amethyst with stillness. Black obsidian with grounding, tiger's eye with steadiness, green aventurine with luck.

That is folklore, and we would rather present it as folklore than dress it up. People have carried stones for a very long time for reasons that were never clinical, and there is something in the ritual of choosing one that does not require the stone to do anything.

Buy the one you like looking at. That is a perfectly good reason.

Why no two are the same

Natural stone is cut from material that decides its own pattern. Amethyst runs from near-black to pale lilac. Labradorite flashes blue or green depending on the angle and on the piece. Tiger's eye bands differently in every bead.

Crystal jewelry in Canada made from real stone will always vary. If a supplier's photographs look identical every time, the stone probably is not real.
